Drs. Dennis Saver and Anthony Amofah Named Leaders in the Adoption of Electronic Health Records

South Florida Regional Extension Center physicians Dennis Saver, M.D., and Anthony Amofah, M.D., were both honored to participate in two national Health IT events in Washington, D.C. on June 18 and 19 focusing on how health information technology can improve care quality and patient health.

Dr. Saver is a Vero Beach physician and the SFREC Steering Subcommittee Chair for Meaningful Use. Dr. Amofah is Chief Medical Officer of Health Choice Network and Community Health of South Florida. They were two of several dozen health care providers invited to the Vanguard Conference for the implementation of electronic health records in primary care settings and a Health IT Town Hall hosted at the White House by senior Obama Administration and HHS officials. The events recognized the contributions of MUVers (Meaningful Use Vanguard) in the adoption and implementation of Meaningful Use. Drs. Saver and Amofah shared their insights on the important role that Health IT programs, such as the Regional Extension Centers (RECs), have played in helping them implement EHRs.
