The gala is raising funds for a state-of-the-art pediatric surgical tower at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

March 28, 2022 –  On Saturday, April 2, hundreds of philanthropists and community leaders across South Florida will gather at Loews Miami Beach to raise essential funds for patients and families at the 2021-2022 Diamond Ball benefiting Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, presented by Ensemble Health Partners.

The Havana Nights-themed event will feature a special tribute to Vivian and Juan Carlos (JC) Mas, who will be inducted into the Ambassador David M. Walters International Pediatric Hall of Fame and honored for their decades of service and support to Nicklaus Children’s, and for their commitment to helping improve the lives of children and families across South Florida. The event will also feature a live auction with one-of-a-kind experiences and patient stories to highlight the level of care provided at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

The evening will raise funds for a five-story, 116,000-square-foot pediatric surgical tower to be constructed above the Emergency Department at the center of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital campus. The tower will include advanced operating rooms and support enhanced surgical care that can impact the next generation. The construction of the surgical tower will ensure that the hospital remains at the forefront of pediatric surgical care.

“We are grateful to once again gather safely with our friends and supporters who are just as passionate as we are about creating a healthy future for every child,” said Matthew Love, President and CEO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. “We want to thank all of our sponsors and guests who will join us for our 15th Annual Diamond Ball. Community support will help us realize our dream of providing enhanced surgical care as we work toward the construction of a state-of-the-art pediatric surgical tower on our main campus.”

The event program will be led by dynamic benefit auctioneers, Jason Alpert and Vallye Adams, alongside guest host John Quinones who is an ABC News correspondent and Emmy Award-winning journalist. Following the program, guests will enjoy a Havana Nights- inspired dance party, hosted by Miami’s legendary DJ Laz from iHeartMedia radio station Totally 93.9. The party will kick off with a special performance by two-time Grammy award winner and Latin music artist Yotuel and his wife Beatriz Luengo.

Leading up to the Diamond Ball event, the public can bid on items in the silent auction which opens online beginning Saturday, March 26.

Now in its 15th year, the signature Nicklaus Children’s Diamond Ball gala continues a long-standing tradition of bringing together community members who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of children everywhere.
