November 12, 2020 – Primary care sports medicine physician Maria Kyriacou, M.D., joins Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute, a part of Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Kyriacou specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems. She has a special interest in sports-related injuries, joint arthritis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures. During her fellowship training, Dr. Kyriacou was involved in stem cell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and amniotic regenerative orthobiologic therapy. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Greek.

Dr. Kyriacou joins Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute from West Kendall Baptist Hospital, where she completed a sports medicine fellowship.
 
During her fellowship, Dr. Kyriacou was part of the medical team for the Miami Dolphins, Florida International University, St. Thomas University and Barry University. She currently serves as a team physician for Florida State University. 
 
In 2019, Dr. Kyriacou was named Resident Teacher of the Year at Phoebe Health. She has also presented at a number of sports medicine conferences and meetings.
 
Dr. Kyriacou served as the medical director for the Sneakers Marathon in Albany, Georgia in 2018 and as the event physician for Escape to Miami and Lifetime Miami Marathon in 2019. 
 
Dr. Kyriacou earned her medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Phoebe Health. 
 
She will see patients at 1150 Campo Sano Avenue, 3rd Floor in Coral Gables, and at 15955 SW 96 Street, Suite 401, in the West Kendall Baptist Hospital’s Medical Arts Building located in Miami.
