Start your engines! St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital recently revved up its Annual Doctor’s Day with a racing theme celebration. The physicians enjoyed an appreciation luncheon, complete with the most popular foods from every track venue. Awards were given out to four doctors who were selected by the hospitals’ employees, recognizing them as top contenders for their contributions to the hospitals.
Award Winners:
Rookie of the Year –Anne Fischer, M.D., Ph.D., the "pit crew’s" favorite new physician added to the team
Sportsman of the Year –Chad Sanborn, M.D., for his professionalism, positive attitude and sportsmanship among all crew members
Driver of the Year –Ali Malek, M.D. ,for leading the Comprehensive Stroke Center team in achieving the monumental milestone of over 2,500 neurointerventions
Moment of the Year –Robert Borrego, M.D., for his critical role in partnering with Florida Atlantic University to start the first physician residency program at St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital
