Ralph L. Sacco, M.D., M.S., Olemberg Family Chair in Neurological Disorders, Miller Professor of Neurology, Epidemiology and Human Genetics, and Chairman of the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has been awarded the prestigious Senator Jacob Javits Award in the Neurosciences. The award provides up to seven years of research funding from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
“The Javits Award gives outstanding scientists opportunities to explore innovative, first-rate research which could truly change the way we think about certain diseases and conditions,” said Story C. Landis, Ph.D., NINDS director. “Dr. Sacco is well known as an exceptional innovative stroke researcher and this award is a testament to the valuable research that he and his team are conducting.”
