Laurie Fitz, RN, BSN, MPA, has been promoted to general manager of VITAS’ Miami-Dade/Monroe program.
Laurie brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to this position. She joined VITAS in 2007 as patient care administrator and was promoted to senior patient care administrator in 2010. Additionally, Laurie was a recipient of VITAS’ prestigious Leadership Council awards in 2010. Prior to joining VITAS, Laurie worked at Tenet Corporation for 10 years, serving as director of staffing at its Florida Medical Center and as assistant chief nursing officer at Parkway Regional Medical Center.
Lazaro Cuervo, BSN, RN, has been promoted to patient care administrator of VITAS’ Miami-Dade/Monroe program. He has more than 25 years of nursing and healthcare experience.
Lazaro joined VITAS in 2009 as an admissions nurse. In 2011, he was promoted to team manager. Prior to joining VITAS, Lazaro served as a field nurse for several South Florida healthcare companies including Professional Home Services, Gentiva Home Care and Visiting Nurses Association. Before that, he was a wound care sales consultant for Pegasus Airwave, Inc. Earlier in his career, he served as a clinical sales representative for Kinetic Concepts, a national wound care company.
