Walk to End Alzheimer’s is World’s Largest Event Dedicated to Alzheimer’s Care, Support and Research

July 19, 2022  – Wellmax Medical Centers and Pasteur Medical will join the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida Chapter as 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer’s presenting sponsors in Miami.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s Miami will be held on Nov. 19. On Walk day, attendees honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony — a mission-focused experience that signifies participants’ solidarity in the fight against the disease. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent participants’ personal connections to Alzheimer’s and reasons for walking.

“Our clinics across South Florida are committed to the health and well-being of seniors,” said Ola Odewole, president of Wellmax and Pasteur Medical Centers. “Alzheimer’s disease has a profound impact on the health of the communities we serve, and as a healthcare leader in the community, we are pleased to join in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s to help raise funds for research and treatment for those affected by this disease.”

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 6 million Americans are currently battling Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, more than 11 million family caregivers provide daily care to those living with the disease.

“Here in Florida, we have the second-highest prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease with more than 580,000 diagnosed residents,” said Monique Stephens, vice president of development for the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida Chapter. “That’s why it is vital that we continue to raise awareness of this disease and funds for a cure, and we are honored to have the support of Wellmax Medical Centers and Pasteur Medical in those efforts.”
