Community members should schedule screenings to get early diagnosis and treatment for chronic or new illnesses

June 15th 2020 – The Breast Center at West Boca Diagnostic Imaging remains  open, with safety standards in place, to offer mammograms, MRI’s, and ultrasounds with strict safety guidelines in place for patients’ protection.  These standards are built upon deep clinical expertise, as well as continuous incorporation of CDC, CMS, and state recommendations. They are a rigorous combination of infection prevention processes, training, testing, personal protective equipment and technology.  It is critical for patients to ensure they are up-to-date on all screenings.

“We are seeing cases where people are delaying care for things like mammograms, MRI’s and X-Rays,  which can lead to an undiagnosed life threatening illness, and we want our patients to understand that our hospital and outpatient centers are safe places to receive care,” said George Rizzuto, chief executive officer of West Boca Medical Center.  “We have taken the appropriate steps, and we have the supplies needed to ensure appropriate safety standards are in place.”

The Breast Center at West Boca Diagnostic Imaging is part of the Palm Beach Health Network, and offers a full complement of outpatient services from conventional x-rays to sophisticated diagnostic technology including:
Bone Densitometry
Digital Mammography
MRI
Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
Ultrasound
X-Ray
CT Scan

“Over the course of the last few months, delaying routine cancer screenings may have made sense initially for many patients, but with the safety measures we have implemented, now is the time to focus on your health and get screened,” said Dr. Marc Kalis, radiologist at the Breast Center at West Boca Diagnostic Imaging.  “Any delay in testing or diagnosis can lead to a delay in treatment, and we want the community to know that we have the appropriate supplies and protocols in place for our patients’ safety during an imaging study.”
