Due to a personal tragedy of losing Mom to pancreatic cancer I set out to create a symbol for all awareness causes. As a result I designed and trademarked the powerful and hope-filled “Life” symbol since the “living of life” should be the real and true meaning of ALL awareness campaigns and causes. The power of the Life™ symbol is that it redirects the attention from a negative (cancer, leukemia, AIDS) to one of hope in reminding us to “DoLife Now!”.

All major cancer-related organizations are vying to bring attention to “their” cause but none celebrate the fact that we are in LIFE and sick-or-not we need to cherish every day to the fullest. We all know that pink stands for breast cancer and gold is for pediatric cancer, but we should celebrate the fact that today’s 5 year blood-cancer survival rate for children is 94% vs. 4% in 1962!

Life, DoLife, and Celebrate Life are only a few of the messages we want to convey…Celebrate Life every day! Why do we have to wait to be diagnosed with a life-threatening disease to take action and only then to vow to ‘live’. Why not live every day as if it is our last?

The LIFE symbol transforms thoughts of doubt and anticipated doom into the perception of endless possibilities.

The LIFE symbol represents freedom and the importance of appreciating, each precious moment.

The LIFE symbol says that there is hope.

The LIFE symbol says that we always have options.

The LIFE symbol embraces solutions to problems versus struggling with the belief that we are in a futile battle for our lives.

The LIFE symbol builds its house on a foundation of possibilities versus beliefs in tragic outcomes.

I hope the LIFE symbol will remind us all to:

Do Life to the fullest, loving who you are and what you are.

Do Life to have a positive mental attitude to fight any disease.

Since developing the LIFE symbol, I now choose to remember my Mother during our good times. It has not been easy for us to introduce the Life symbol. This is exactly why we take at least 10% from the sale of LIFE products and donate it through our Celebrate Life Foundation to smaller community organizations who perform miracles with a very tight budget.

One organization we support and agree with wholeheartedly is the Think Before You Pink Organization (www.thinkbeforeyoupink.org). We ask you to please support them and learn from the very pertinent observations that they uncover.

Help us say ‘no’ to negative connotations of the ribbons and ‘yes’ to the positive messages from the LIFE symbol.

DoLife!
