The Areawide Council on Aging has elected its new leadership for 2008. The nonprofit 501 C-3 organization administers the Aging & Disability Resource Center which is the prime planning, coordinating, funding, and advocacy body for programs and services benefiting the multiple needs of over 339,317 year-round senior residents.
The slate of officers includes: Rickey Pine, President; North Lauderdale Mayor Jack Brady, 1st Vice President; Manuel Synalovski, AIA, 2nd Vice President; Mary Todd, 3rd Vice President; Deborah G. Rand, Treasurer; Barbara Beilly, Secretary; and Robert Tomasulo, Parliamentarian. Two new members were elected. They are: State Representative Joe Gibbons and North Broward Medical Center CEO Pauline Grant. Also, Gale Fontaine has been elected Chair, and Della McCurdy, Vice Chair of the Aging & Disability Resource Centers Advisory Council for 2008. Fontaine, a resident of Lighthouse Point, is the owner of Four Corners Bingo. For the past three years, she has been both an active member of the advocacy group, as well as a dedicated and productive participant on the Fundraising Committee. McCurdy, Special Consumer Services Manager, Florida Power & Light, has been the utilitys official liaison to the ADRC for more than 10 years.
