All donations from January 1, 2020 – June 30, 2020 will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association

December 16, 2020 – The Alzheimer’s Association has been chosen as the beneficiary for The GATE Foundation Coin Box Collection. Beginning on New Years Day, all Coin Box Collections across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina GATE convenience stores will collect donations to support the Alzheimer’s Association and benefit The Longest Day, an Alzheimer’s Association fundraising initiative that encourages participants to combat the darkness of Alzheimer’s through the activity of their choice on the summer solstice – the day with the most sunlight – or whatever date is most convenient. The campaign will conclude just 10 days after The Longest Day, on June 30, 2020.

“We are so pleased to partner with the GATE Foundation for their Coin Box Collection campaign,” said Jessica Marshall, Alzheimer’s Association Executive Director for the Central and North Florida region. “We are honored that they chose to support a cause that affects over 900,000 people in the Southeast. This support will increase our research funding and enhance the care and support services we provide to Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers everyday.”
"Thanks to the generosity of our customers and employees, GATE Foundation has the opportunity to support two different not-for-profit organizations per year with a Coin Box Collection campaign,"  said Kathy Brady, Executive Director for The GATE Foundation. "We are thrilled that our campaign period starting January 1, 2020 will raise funds to support the Alzheimer’s Association, allowing them to further serve the 5.8 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association is a critical lifeline of information and support to so many of our customers and employees.”

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and in the State of Florida. There are over 560,000 Floridians living with Alzheimer’s disease and over 1.1 million people providing them unpaid care. There are more than 5.8 million Americans living with the disease. Additionally, more than 16 million Americans provide unpaid care for those struggling with the disease.

The GATE Foundation’s Coin Box Collection will begin collecting donations for the Alzheimer’s Association on January 1, 2020 and will conclude donating on June 30, 2020. All Gate convenience stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina will have Coin Box Collection stations for donations.
