Wayne Brackin, CEO of South Miami Hospital, has been named chief operating officer of Baptist Health South Florida. The appointment was announced by Baptist Health President and CEO Brian Keeley.
Brackin has worked for Baptist Health for 22 years, including 17 at South Miami Hospital (12 years as CEO). He also served five years as CEO of Homestead Hospital, leading it through the devastation of Hurricane Andrew in 1992. At Homestead, he was named a Healthcare Hero by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and recognized by the Florida Legislature.
