Bill Duquette has been named chief executive officer of Homestead Hospital. He succeeds Bo Boulenger, who was appointed chief executive officer of Baptist Hospital of Miami.

Duquette has more than 27 years of experience in healthcare administration. He joined Homestead Hospital in 1991 as administrative director of laboratory services and performance improvement coordinator. He was named assistant vice president of operations in 1998 and promoted to vice president of operations four years later.

With an early career background in medical technology and laboratory medicine, Duquette is a licensed clinical laboratory supervisor and certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a medical technologist.

In addition to his hospital leadership, Duquette is active in the community. He is a Board member of the Greater Miami and the Keys Chapter of the American Red Cross, and was awarded in 2005 the Clara Barton Volunteer Award, one of the organization’s highest honors. Duquette also is a member of the Homestead Civitan Club, Homestead-Florida City Chamber of Commerce and the Homestead-South Dade Red Cross Council, for which he is a past chairman.

Duquette is a graduate of the University of Miami and received a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
