Now, through Broward Health International, patients visiting from outside the United States have access to the same spectrum of legendary, high-quality healthcare services that South Florida residents have enjoyed for half a century.
As the program has developed in 2009, Broward Health administrators have worked with Consular Officers from Caribbean countries to establish goals and objectives to best meet the medical and financial needs of their citizens through cost-effective, comprehensive medical management, in an appropriate and timely manner.
Broward Health International offers a full spectrum of medical services. Highlights include specialized treatment in cardiology care, advanced cancer treatment, minimally-invasive surgical treatments with the robotic daVinci Surgical System and CyberKnife radiosurgery system, comprehensive neurological care, a first-class pediatric hematology/oncology program, a surgical eye center offering treatment for delicate eye problems and a world-leading orthopedic and sports medicine center. The systems other medical services are also available to international patients.
Broward Healths exceptional medical expertise is matched by a unified commitment to personalized care. From a patients initial inquiry through their follow-up medical care back home, a patient care representative will act as a single point of contact to assist them throughout their stay. Through the one-call VIP concierge service, International Program staff including physicians, administrators, interpreters and patient care representatives coordinates patients access to more than 200 participating specialists and customized services like physician referrals, medical documentation for Visas, travel arrangements for patients and their families, translation services, local transportation, coordination of physician and hospital visits, transfer of medical records, financial arrangements, and more by making just one call to the concierge services department.
Of special interest for this program is the newly developed Executive Physical Program. This comprehensive health management and prevention program is designed to meet the needs of busy international executives and their families. Complete physical exams and diagnostic screenings are tailored to the individual needs of patients, emphasizing prevention and early detection to ensure health and wellness, diagnose possible risk factors, and prevent future health issues.
The Program includes a one- to three-day exam involving a complete study of medical history, as well as a cardiac stress test, cardiac and lung scan to identify potential problems, a body fat composition analysis, and nutrition counseling. Depending on health and preferences, the Executive Physical can be expanded to include other pertinent medical exams, screenings and services for a comprehensive evaluation of the patients health status.
