Marco (Tony) Ruiz, MBA, director of Information Technology, Broward Health, has been awarded the College of Healthcare Information Management Executive (CHIME) Health Forum Fellowship for 2009.

Ruiz was chosen based on his recent achievements at Broward Health, his innovations with technology, and his potential to become a future chief information officer (CIO) in healthcare IT. As a recipient of the fellowship, Ruiz will be attending the Health Forum Leadership Summit, the CIO Forum and the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp.

Ruiz joined Broward Health as a systems analyst in 1993. He was promoted to manager in Clinical and Systems Support in 1999, and named director of Information Technology in 2007.
