Broward Health Medical Center (BHMC) has been named one of six hospitals in South Florida recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with a Medal of Honor for exceptional achievement in organ donation.
 
BHMC was recognized with the HHS Medal of Honor for achieving and sustaining national goals for organ donation, including a donation rate of 75 percent or more of eligible donors at their facilities. BHMC earned the Bronze medal by achieving an 84.8 percent collaborative conversion rate during a 24-month period (April 1 2010 – March 31, 2012).
