Nurses have some of the most demanding jobs and schedules often working long shifts for consecutive days. However, they can now obtain an advanced degree online from the leading nursing program in South Florida and one of the most respected in the nation. Miami Dade College (MDC) has launched a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program to enable licensed registered nurses to upgrade their skills.

The program is available both online and on site at the college’s Medical Center Campus in Miami’s hospital district near downtown. It enables an RN to advance to the BSN level by providing the knowledge and skills needed for professional nursing practice in all clinical settings. Working nurses can finish the program’s 30 credits in five semesters. Costs for the program are among the most affordable in the nation.

Miami Dade College trains the majority of nurses working in the region and graduates more nurses than any other institution in the United States. It established the BSN to meet a critical demand for nurses with advanced training.

Applicants to the BSN program should apply by May 1 for the semester beginning in August 2008. Admission to the BSN program is selective and has a number of prerequisites. Scholarships are also available.
