To brighten up the hospital and offer a colorful distraction to pediatric patients undergoing treatment, wives of Miami Dolphins executives, coaches, players, alumni and staff, along with pediatric patients, rolled up their sleeves on February 5 and painted ceiling tiles for three playrooms throughout the Hematology, Oncology and Pediatric playrooms at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital.Organized by members of Broward Health’s Child Life program, the event was held in partnership with the Broward Health Foundations Kids Campaign. The capital campaign was launched to raise more than $20 million to renovate and expand the children’s hospital, in turn providing patients and their families with many of the comforts of home so that their true focus can be on getting well. To date, the campaign has raised $12 million toward this effort.
