Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS) has been awarded a $20,000 grant from The Miami Foundation to provide services for homeless individuals in Miami-Dade County. The funds will be used by JCS’ Project H.O.P.E. (Homeless Outreach Program for Employment) to provide short-term vocational training as well as travel assistance to homeless persons referred to the project by the Miami Dade Homeless Trust (MDHT) Continuum of Care (CoC). As one of the MDHT’s service providers, JCS is an integral part of the CoC. Last year, Project H.O.P.E. provided 427 participants with either direct job placement or vocational and day labor training opportunities.
