November 12 2020 – Kara Marante has been promoted to vice president and chief people officer for Nicklaus Children’s Health System after serving as the organization’s interim chief talent officer for the past several months. In her role, Ms. Marante leads the human resources, organizational development, and patient and family experiences teams for the health system, which features a workforce of approximately 4,000. 
 
“Kara’s passion for bringing out the best in people supports our culture and commitment to building cross-functional teams that support the health system’s mission and dedication to being a great place to work,” said Perry Ann Reed, president, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and senior vice president and chief operating officer of the health system, the hospital’s parent organization. “We are delighted that Kara has accepted this new role.”
 
Ms. Marante joined Nicklaus Children’s in 2011 and has served in key leadership roles, including founding and directing the Department of Patient and Guest Relations, which guides corporate service/hospitality and customer relations; founding and directing the Children’s Experiences team, dedicated to enhancing the care setting for patients and families; and serving as an executive leadership coach. 
 
Prior to joining the health system, Ms. Marante was regional vice president for Miami Dade Associated Builders and Contractors, Florida East Coast Chapter. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, a master’s of business administration from Florida International University and has completed post-graduate studies in executive coaching at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
