June 21, 2022 – After more than three years of planning and building, HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of the new $100 million tower on Thursday, June 23 at 5:30 p.m.

The first two floors of the four-story tower will add 32 medical surgical beds to the hospital, feature private rooms, and offer spacious waiting and registration areas. In addition, pre-operative and recovery areas have been expanded, three operating rooms have been added, and additional parking spaces have been created. The third and fourth floors are designated as shell space for future growth. With a focus on accessibility and convenience, the design of the new tower is inviting to both patients and visitors.

The opening of the tower comes at a critical time as many healthcare systems across the country, including Lawnwood, saw an increased number of patients fighting COVID during the height of the pandemic.

“We are proud of our tower expansion project and the investment in the Treasure Coast community,” said HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital CEO Eric Goldman. “The new tower will elevate the patient experience and demonstrate our commitment to meeting the growing needs of our community.”

As the only trauma center on the Treasure Coast, Lawnwood’s highly skilled team of physicians, nurses and healthcare workers must be prepared to handle high volumes. With the new tower, advanced technology and a focus on patient centered care, Lawnwood will continue to keep pace with the growth in Fort Pierce and surrounding communities for years to come.

Lawnwood Hospital is a facility of HCA East Florida. HCA East Florida is the largest healthcare system in Southeast Florida and an affiliate of HCA Healthcare (HCA).
