Marc Agronin, M.D.

As the Director of Mental Health Services for Miami Jewish Home & Hospital, Dr. Agronin oversees all aspects of behavioral treatment at New Beginnings. A board certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist, Dr. Agronin is also an associate professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Agronin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard University in 1987 with dual degrees in psychology and philosophy and earned his MD at Yale University School of Medicine in 1991.

Dr. Agronin is the 2008 recipient of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry Clinician of the Year Award.

Dr. Agronin has written nearly 70 articles and book chapters on various topics in geriatric psychiatry, including dementia, personality disorders, and sexuality in late life, and has been involved in more than 30 clinical research projects.

A respected author, lecturer and researcher in his field, Dr. Agronin’s expertise is sought after nationally and internationally.

Elsayed Abdel-Moty, Ph.D.

Dr. Elsayed Abdel-Moty is the Program Director of the Rosomoff Comprehensive Pain Center (RCPC) at Miami Jewish Home & Hospital and a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Miami.

Dr. Abdel-Moty received a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an MS in Biomedical Engineering, both from Cairo University, Egypt. In 1988, He received a PhD in Biomedical, Ergonomics and Systems Engineering from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida.

Since 1996, as the Administrator of Clinical Services and Systems, Dr. Abdel-Moty has been heavily involved in the operational management of the Center. He has applied valuable principles of efficiency, effectiveness, and work processes in the clinical setting to increase productivity, manage resources, monitor quality, and facilitate multidisciplinary operations.

Among many articles and book chapters, Dr. Abdel-Moty co-authored the textbook: Ergonomics in Back Pain: A Guide to Prevention and Rehabilitation. He is a frequent speaker at national and international professional meetings and is the developer of several software programs and algorithms to aide rehabilitation, functional restoration, work injury management, and quality monitoring.

Dr. Abdel-Moty serves on the American Pain Society’s “Clinical Centers of Excellence Award” Selection Committee. The Committee is charged with reviewing, evaluating, and rating applications for the national “Centers of Excellence” Award. The RCPC was a first recipient of the award in 2007.
