Palm Beach Atlantic University has named Associate Professor of Nursing Dr. Donna Murray as the director of its new Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Dr. Murray received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Florida Atlantic University. Her capstone academic project focused on increasing community awareness of the practice focused DNP to meet the growing demands to healthcare in the 21st century.
 
After completing her four-year degree in nursing at Murray State in 1989, Dr. Murray worked in various clinical settings as a registered nurse including leadership/management roles before returning to school to receive her master’s degree in nursing. She chose to specialize as a nurse practitioner and is board-certified in family practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her experience includes diagnosing and treating patient populations of all ages, collaborating care with physicians and other health professionals within a family medicine residency program, and precepting student nurse practitioners. Other experience includes medical stabilization for subspecialty population in substance/detox/mental health setting.
