Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center (CSMC) has a reason to celebrate! Phase two of its Emergency Department (ED) construction project is now complete and the ED is open for business.
Phase one of the $21 million project broke ground in January 2008 and was completed in October 2010. Phase two renovated the original ED to match the new expansion. The total renovation has increased the square footage of the entire ED to 28,000 square feet – nearly doubling its original size – and increased its exam rooms from 23 to 40. CSMC’s ED for Kids, voted two years in a row as the “Best Pediatric ER in Broward County” by South Florida Parenting magazine, has a designated pediatric waiting area along with eight pediatric private rooms.
Now that CSMC’s fully renovated ED is open, it is expected to see an increase in volume – up to 4,000 more patient visits from last year – for a total projection of 58,000 patients.
