Profiles in Leadership – Palmetto General Hospital

 

 

Michele Thoman is the chief operating officer at Palmetto General Hospital. Michele is responsible for overseeing various departments within the hospital including Rehabilitation Services, Food and Nutrition Services, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Pharmacy, Radiology, Cardiopulmonary Services, Laboratory Services and Information Systems. Michele was previously the chief nursing officer where she led the nursing team at Palmetto for over a year. Michele holds a Nurse Executive Advanced Certification and is a Fellow of the Johnson and Johnson Wharton Fellows Program in Management. She is published in both Nursing Administration Quarterly and The Florida Nurse for her insight in innovation and safe staffing. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
