The Public Health Trust Board of Trustees, the governing body of Jackson Health System, has named Gene Bassett chief operating officer for Jackson Health System, as interim chief executive officer and Eneida O. Roldan, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., senior vice president, associate chief medical officer and chief administrative officer for Jackson Memorial Hospital, as interim president and chief operating officer for JHS. These interim positions will go into effect on January 1, 2009, in anticipation of President and CEO Marvin O’Quinn’s departure at the end of the year.

Bassett, who joined Jackson in 2006, has more than 40 years of hospital experience, with more than 30 years in hospital administration. Dr. Roldan was most recently the former president and chief executive officer of Metropolitan Hospital of Miami.
