Maria Voudy’s passion and perseverance led her to becoming an emergency room nurse at Broward Health Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center.

“Ever since I was young, I wanted to work in the medical field,” said Voudy. “I wanted to be a doctor but when I got married and started a family, I put that dream on hold. Today I am living my dream job and working in a profession I truly love.”

Voudy and her family relocated to Florida in 1996. At age 39, she enrolled in Broward College where she earned her nursing degree. For the past 20 years, Voudy has worked as an RN also serving as a preceptor in the Emergency Department at Broward Health Medical Center.

“Being a nurse is more than just a job,” said Voudy. “Going to work is like going to my second home because I consider my coworkers as family.”
