Courtney Bossle has been a nurse in Broward Health North’s Emergency Department (ED) for more than three years after first serving as a paramedic in the unit for six years.

“I enjoy that my team is always willing to lend a helping hand and collaborate to make sure our patients have the best outcome possible,” said Bossle, who transitioned to nursing in 2021. “I also like when my patients tell me stories about their lives. We have such a diverse population it’s always interesting to hear the stories of those from all walks of life.”

She encourages others interested in a career in emergency nursing to be ready for a fast-paced environment where you have to think critically, lead with compassion and experience high levels of emotions as you care for people on what can be the scariest day of their lives.

Courtney received her associate of nursing degree from Miami Dade College.
