Anita Wilborn, MD Dr. Anita Wilborn is a board-certified internist recently selected as the “Best Family Physician in Palm Beach County” in the 2019 “Best of Palm Beach County” Awards. Dr. Wilborn is dedicated to helping her patients achieve a healthy lifestyle by tackling obesity and achieving a healthy weight, giving them guidance to take control of their health. Kimmerle Cohen, MDDr. Kimmerle “K.C.” Cohen is an experienced hepatopancreaticobiliary and general surgeon specializing in pancreas, liver, bile duct care, laparoscopy and robotic surgery, complex gastrointestinal (GI) surgery, surgical critical care, and in skin cancer detection and treatment. She is dedicated to helping patients with a diverse variety of malignant and benign diseases. In fact, Dr. Cohen has a unique perspective and special interest in skin malignancy not only from a professional standpoint but from a personal one as well. After being diagnosed with melanoma twice herself she has dedicated herself to the evaluation and treatment of skin cancers using an oncologic, compassionate, and cosmetic approach.
For duodenal cancer and pancreatic cancer, Dr. Cohen performs the Whipple procedure or pancreaticoduodenectomy used to treat tumors and other disorders of the pancreas and digestive organs, a very complex operation where the head of the pancreas is removed along with the first part of the small intestine, gallbladder and bile duct. Dr. Cohen is excited to bring these new technologies, advances in this specialty, and a comfortable and healing environment to the Palm Beaches.

Andres Palacio, MDDr. Andres Palacio discovered he wanted to go into medicine early on in life, at age four his leg was amputated and he said being at the hospital a lot when he was young gave him the chance to meet a lot of nurses and doctors who changed his life and the lives of others. Dr. Palacio chose to dedicate his life to endocrinology so he could help people. He says at his endocrinology practice with Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS) that you’re not only going to meet a nice doctor but one that is competent and trained in the study, diagnosis and treatment needed to provide endocrinology care for diabetes, metabolism and other disorders.
Prior to joining TFPS, Dr. Palacio was an endocrinologist at two separate clinics in Medellin, Colombia, at the Jones Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Wellness in Macon, GA, and as a primary care physician in Colombia. Dr. Palacio is on-staff at Florida Medical Center, a campus of North Shore located in Fort Lauderdale. He has been practicing medicine since 1999.
Maxine Hamilton, MDDr. Maxine Hamilton is an experienced internist providing expert primary care to the residents of Fort Lauderdale at her internal medicine practice since for over 23-years. Dr. Hamilton specializes in geriatric care, preventive medicine, cardiovascular disease, physicals and vaccinations, health promotion and wellness, and clinical research. She specializes in hospital medicine at Florida Medical Center, a campus of North Shore also located in Fort Lauderdale. Jennifer Capezzuti, DO, MPH, MBA Every year, Dr. Jennifer Capezzuti travels on a medical mission in an effort to donate her time and expertise to help people around the world receive health care. In just the past few years, Dr. Capezzuti has helped the people of Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, and most recently the Masai tribesman in Kenya, Africa. The rest of the year, Dr. Capezzuti is here in South Florida as a family medicine physician with the passion for helping others in her Fort Lauderdale community. She is a board-certified family practice physician who is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or DO which is a training and philosophy of holistic patient care using osteopathic manipulative medicine with a focus on preventive care and the entire patient, not just the specific complaint, to determine diagnosis and treatment. At Dr. Capezzuti’s Fort Lauderdale office with Tenet Florida Physician Services, she specializes in chronic and new disease management; adolescent care ages 13-and-up, work and school physicals, EKG to digitally record heart rate and rhythm, wellness and health promotion. Sofia Vasquez, MD, FACEDr. Sofia Vasquez followed in the footsteps of her father, a physician. When she was 5-years-old she wanted to be a doctor or sports commentator. It’s true that she loves watching sports, but her endocrinology knowledge, expertise, and empathy paved her way to become one of Miami-Dade County’s experienced and expert endocrinologists. At her office with Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS), located in Hialeah, Dr. Vasquez specializes in thyroid disorders, diabetes, adrenal disorders and pituitary disorders. In addition, she is on-staff at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah.
Dr. Vasquez is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. To complete her education, Dr. Vasquez completed fellowship training in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. Dr. Vasquez opened her TFPS endocrinology practice in Hialeah back in 2008. Vanitha Vasudevan, MD, FACSDr. Vanitha Vasudevan, a general and oncological surgeon, chose her medical field to make a difference in people’s lives. Hayder Al-Azzawi, MDDr. Hayder Al-Azzawi is a board-certified colorectal and general surgeon who said he chose his field because he enjoys performing laparoscopic surgery and takes pride in doing most of his procedures with small incisions. Dr. Al-Azzawi says what he likes most about his job is that its diverse; one-day he’s doing major abdominal surgery and the next day it’s an endoscopy. Dr. Al-Azzawi emphasizes the importance of explaining the signs and symptoms of colon cancer and the treatment options available today to the public. Dr. Al-Azzawi has extensive areas of interest broken down into three main categories: robotic abdominal procedures, laparoscopic abdominal procedures and anorectal procedures.
