Since joining the Holy Cross Health Volunteer Program in the fall of 2021, Sarah Ransdell has brought exceptional energy, passion and efficiency to her role in the Wanda and Jim Moran, Jr. Emergency Department. Every day, she arrives with a warm smile and a positive attitude, immediately diving into her responsibilities of checking patient rooms, supporting patients and families, and assisting colleagues with comfort measures. With more than 1,600 hours of dedicated service, she has become an essential member of the ED team. Ransdell not only volunteers several days a week, but also helps orient new volunteers, ensuring they feel welcomed, prepared and supported. Her enthusiasm extends far beyond her daily shifts. She plays an active role in colleague engagement and hospital wide celebrations, where her upbeat spirit brings joy and brightness to every event. In addition to her volunteer service, Ransdell brings an extraordinary 40-year career in higher education, including 20 years at Nova Southeastern University. She currently serves at NSU’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine, continuing to inspire and shape future health care professionals.
