Steven D. Wexner, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Chief Academic Officer and emeritus Chief of Staff at Cleveland Clinic Florida, has been elected President of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery (ABCRS). He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2005.
Dr. Wexner served as President of the Florida Gastroenterologic Society from 2004 to 2005 and the South Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons from 2000-2004.
In addition to serving as President of ABCRS, Dr. Wexner is currently President-elect of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS). When he assumes the presidency of ASCRS in 2011, he will be only the second person in history to serve as president of both organizations simultaneously.
