December 14, 2022 – Cleveland Clinic Florida (CCF) welcomes Surendra Khera, MD, MSc, as Regional Institute Chair of Population Health. In this role, Dr. Khera will define, develop, and manage the clinical operations, financial performance, academics, and growth of all patient care activities within the CCF Population Health Institute.
Dr. Khera has served in many leadership roles throughout his healthcare career including: Chief Population Health Officer and Chair of Medicine at RWJ Barnabus Health at Jersey Medical Center in New Jersey; Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Connecticut; and CEO of Alliance in Internal Medicine in Connecticut, a clinical consulting company that advised primary care practices.
Upon earning his medical degree at Burdwan Medical College in India, Dr. Khera completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Connecticut/St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He earned the Executive Fellowship in Patient Safety from Virginia Commonwealth University and the Certificate in Population Health from Jefferson School of Population Health.
