You’ve heard it before, today’s job market offers recruiters access to the most qualified candidate pool most of us have ever seen. The trick to successfully recruiting in this qualified, but sometimes overwhelming, job seeker group is to target your strategy to the right candidates. This doesn’t mean you can only target one type of candidate. You should focus on a variety of candidate types for every position you are looking to fill.

So, what do I mean when I say different candidate types? There are many things health care professionals look for in an employer. Are they interested in the technology used in the facility? Is it the company culture? Is it the way they will be interacting with the patients? The answers to these questions can direct the content of three completely different job postings; attracting three completely different types of candidates. Each of these candidate types, while different, could be a great fit to your organization. Which is why it is so important to communicate your message effectively to each of these different types of candidates. Attempting to appeal to too many candidate types in one posting can dilute your message and seem confusing. A more effective approach is to select the different candidate types you are interested in attracting, and write separate postings with separate messaging for each of these groups. This allows you keep a targeted recruitment strategy while reaching a diverse group of healthcare professionals.
