Thomas Powell, M.D., M.S., has joined Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) as the new Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Director of Medical Informatics.
Dr. Powell received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center. He also holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University. Before coming to MCH, Dr. Powell was the Director of Anesthesia Informatics and the Assistant Medical Director of Perioperative Medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
