Good Samaritan Medical Center surgeon Mas G. Massoumi, M.D., F.A.C.S., recently received the American Medical Association Foundations “Excellence in Medicine” award at the organizations National Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. The award was given in association with Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative for outstanding non-clinical leadership skills in community service, education and/or advocacy.
Dr. Massoumi specializes in hand surgery and microsurgical reconstruction of the upper extremities and is medical director of the Palm Beach Orthopedic Hand Center. On March 11, Dr. Massoumi presented his technique for reconstructive surgery of arthritic fingers at the World Congress of International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH) in Sydney, Australia.
Locally, Dr. Massoumi is a member of the Board of Governors for the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults in Palm Beach, past president of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and past chair of the Societys medical advisory committee.
