Kendall Regional Medical Center celebrated the one year anniversary of its Burn Center Wednesday, July 31st. The event was held to recognize the efforts of the specially physicians and staff that treat burn patients in the center.
 
As one of only 5 Burn Programs in the State of Florida, Kendall Regional Medical Center has filled a huge void in our community. The Burn Program provides the latest in cutting-edge technology and scientific advances in the complex treatment of both adult and pediatric burns. “We are proud to celebrate our 1 year anniversary of saving lives and helping patients recover,” said Peter Jude, director of public relations for Kendall Regional Medical Center.
 
Since opening in July of last year, the Burn Program has had over 293 burn admissions & more than 3,982 patient visits to the burn clinic. The Burn Program has treated patients as old as 95 & as young as 1 month. Also, patients have traveled from other countries such as Trinidad, Cayman Islands & Haiti to receive specialized burn care.
 
The anniversary event was also attended by former patients & their families who thanked the staff for their compassionate care during their treatment.
