Dr. Esther Ozeryansky, a breast surgical oncologist who joined Memorial earlier this year, is excited by the impact her work has for patients with breast cancer, benign masses, malignant tumors, atypical hyperplasia and other diseases of the breast that can be treated surgically.
“Surgery can be a cure for the majority of those we care for, but the procedures are not easy and the cosmetic outcome matters,” said Dr. Ozeryansky. “I have to keep a 3D image in my mind at all times. There is a feel and orientation to breast surgery that is hard to master without specific training.”
Dr. Ozeryansky, whose fellowship was completed at New York University (NYU) Langone in 2017, is a longtime Hollywood resident that grew up in the community where Memorial Healthcare System is based. She says working in the public, safety-net system appeals to her because it cares for the patient population in the area she calls home.
