Dorothy Watson is the chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Florida.
She began her career with HCA Healthcare over 35 years ago as a registered nurse in Eastern Idaho. She served for 18 years as the nursing director for surgical, orthopedics, spine, and pediatrics. Watson has also served as the director of risk reduction and patient safety, and the assistant chief nursing officer at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Utah.
Watson earned her master’s of science in nursing leadership from Western Governors University-Utah and her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Brigham Young University in Idaho. Watson has also completed the HCA Executive Development Program and HCA Quality University.
Watson served previously as an advisory board member for Eastern Idaho Technical College’s LPN/RN programs, and the Brigham Young University of Idaho’s ADN/BSN programs, and she serves currently for Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida.
