Haresh N. Patel, M.D., FACHE was selected as the Deputy Chief of Staff at West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. He will be responsible for Mental Health programs, Social Work Services and Non-VA care.He began his career at the VA as a staff physician at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Patel has served in progressively challenging clinical and administrative positions in different VAs. Before this appointment, he finished the Health Care Executive Fellowship program in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Prior to this fellowship, he was Chief, Medicine Care Line and Chief, Compensation & Pension at VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in Las Vegas.
Dr. Patel attended Medical School at B. J. Medical School at Gujarat University, Gujarat, India graduating in 1996. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital located in Pontiac, Michigan affiliated with Wayne State University School of Medicine. He has served as an Assistant Professor at various universities.
